The national matchmaker wants to better nudge singles who share common interests to get hitched, in a bid to increase the rate of marriages and the country's birth rate.

Social Development Network (SDN) Council co-chairman Prakash Somosundram told The Straits Times that instead of speed dating or blind dates, the SDN wants to share with partners its "matchmaker" expertise for events like lifestyle activities.
