SINGAPORE – The world’s most famous beagle will take over Mandai Wildlife Reserve this festive season.

From Nov 2, visitors can catch Snoopy and his friends at Mandai, while learning about wildlife, participating in exciting activities and redeeming exclusive badges.

The Snoopy Beagle Scouts at Festive Wild-erland event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Snoopy Beagle Scouts, which made their debut in the Peanuts comic strip on June 9, 1974.

Aside from Snoopy, the Beagle Scouts also include his best friend Woodstock and eight bird friends – Olivier, Conrad, Bill, Fred, Harriet, Raymond, Roy and Wilson. The characters were created by American cartoonist Charles M. Schulz.

Adventure trails and photo spots

Visitors who are up for an adventure can follow physical and digital trails at Singapore Zoo and Bird Paradise to challenge their observation and memory skills.

They can earn keepsake badges by completing the trails and checking out all four checkpoints on the physical trails in both parks and the 10 digital mission stops.

For instance, visitors can stop by the orang utan habitat at Singapore Zoo to spot items provided by the animal care team that help keep the primates comfortable and active.

Visitors who finish the trails can take home Snoopy-themed keepsake badges.

At Bird Paradise, they can look out for a bird that looks like Woodstock and discover how it weaves intricate hanging nests.

And there are opportunities to strike a pose with the Beagle Scouts at the photo spots scattered around Mandai Wildlife Reserve, including the large inflatable installation of Snoopy resting on top of his dog house.

Other activities include special meet-and-greet sessions with Peanuts characters at both parks, a make-your-own-comic-strip station at Singapore Zoo and a crafting workshop at Bird Paradise, where visitors can make enrichment devices that can be used to stimulate the birds.

Local residents who purchase tickets to Singapore Zoo or Bird Paradise can also enjoy complimentary admission to River Wonders by joining the free WildPass digital membership.

At River Wonders, visitors can take part in a digital scavenger hunt for a chance to win Snoopy merchandise.

Those who are not looking to enter the parks can join the fun at the Mandai Wildlife West public space.

Families can take along their pets to visit the Christmas market, and shop for gifts at festive stalls, join holiday-themed workshops and take part in a best-dressed dog competition.

Snoopy Beagle Scouts at Festive Wild-erland will run until Jan 5, 2025.
