Singaporeans turn to online petitions to champion causes
More tech-savvy citizens lobbying for change on online platforms

A check by The Straits Times showed that Singaporeans created more than 140 petitions on popular petition websites like Change.org and GoPetition last year.

A year ago, a dog circus wanted to come to town. The troop of poodles, promised the organisers, would perform "breathtaking gongfu diabolo" and "fun acrobatics".
Some 7,000 people leapt into action - by signing an online petition agitating for the show at Resorts World Sentosa to be scrapped.
