SINGAPORE - A Singaporean was injured in the attacks in Nice, France, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said late on Friday (July 15) night.

He was not registered with the MFA, and the Ministry did not identify the man.

But it said in a statement: "His injuries are not life-threatening. We are in close contact with his family."

It added that the Singapore Embassy in Paris has sent an officer to Nice to provide consular assistance to the Singaporean and his family.

MFA is also helping a Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) student who has been injured.

The Malaysian student, Mr Esmond Chuah, 22, is in a stable condition, the school said earlier.
