SINGAPORE – Travellers heading to Vietnam will soon enjoy more flight options from Singapore following a new code-share agreement with Vietnam’s national flag carrier.
This comes as Singapore Airlines (SIA) signed a code-share agreement with Vietnam Airlines that will take effect on Oct 26.
In a joint statement on Sept 23, the carriers said that SIA will code-share on Vietnam Airlines-operated flights between Singapore and Vietnam’s Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

All flights are subject to regulatory approvals, they added.
These code-share flights will be progressively available for sale from Oct 10 via both airlines’ sales channels and travel agents.
Both airlines will also explore adding other destinations in their network to the code-share agreement.
Vietnam Airlines’ director of corporate planning and development Nguyen Quang Trung said that this collaboration leverages the extensive route networks and premium services of both airlines to offer greater connectivity and flexibility for passengers.
SIA’s senior vice-president of marketing planning Dai Haoyu said: “This will also support economic growth and tourism in our countries, and deepen the longstanding ties between Singapore and Vietnam.”
