SINGAPORE – Few children know KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) as well as Ng Hwee Suan does. The nine-year-old girl has been in and out of the hospital so much that she has spent about half of her young life within its walls.

After she was born, she did not pass motion for two days and was diagnosed with intestinal failure, a rare ailment where the small intestine is not functional.
