SINGAPORE – The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has ordered a recall of a brand of food seasoning products, due to the possible presence of plastic pieces in them.

The products by Cape Herb and Spice are supplied from South Africa, said SFA in a statement on Feb 7.

The affected products by the brand are:

  • Salt and Pepper (310g), with the universal product code (UPC) 6006507005924, batch numbers 1001965122 and 1002063666, and expiry dates of Oct 18, 2025, and March 20, 2027.

  • Sweet and Smoky BBQ (230g), with the UPC 6006507004781, batch number 1001965132 and an expiry date of Oct 19, 2025.

  • Extra Bold Peppercorns (185g), with the UPC 6006507004774, batch number 1001965121 and an expiry date of Oct 3, 2025.

SFA was informed of the issue by its importer Q.B. Trading, which has since been directed to recall the affected products.

The recall is ongoing.

Under the Sale of Food Act, food products known to be unsafe for consumption should not be sold.

Those who have purchased the affected products are advised not to consume them. Those who have consumed them and have concerns about their health should seek medical attention, said SFA.
