Sentosa Development Corp's Mike Barclay to join Wildlife Reserves Singapore as CEO

SINGAPORE - Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) has announced the appointment of Mr Mike Barclay as its new chief executive officer, with effect from Oct 1 this year.

WRS manages the Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari and River Safari.

Mr Barclay joins WRS from the Sentosa Development Corporation, where he has been the chief executive officer since August 2008. In this role, he has led a comprehensive restructuring of the corporation and grown visitorship, from 5.6 million in 2007 to almost 20 million in 2013.

Before joining Sentosa, Mr Barclay spent 16 years with Singapore Airlines, culminating in his appointment as chief executive officer of SilkAir in 2004.

Mr Barclay said: "I am excited by the prospect of joining Wildlife Reserves of Singapore. I am looking forward to working with the team to further enhance the experiences of Singaporeans and visitors at these attractions."
