SINGAPORE – Motorists can expect the closure of a section of West Coast Highway in the wee hours of Sept 2 to 5.
In a statement on Aug 27, HDB said that the stretch – between the junctions of West Coast Link and Pandan Crescent – will be temporarily closed to traffic in both directions for the construction of a new pedestrian overhead bridge.
The bridge will be built across West Coast Highway, near Block 801 West Coast Crescent, and works will take place from 11pm on each of Sept 2, 3 and 4, till 5am the next day.
During the road closures, motorists are advised to use West Coast Link and West Coast Road as an alternative route to the closed segment of the highway.
One lane will remain open for public buses until the last bus service ends. Access to Pandan Crescent will remain open during this period.
Barricades and diversion signs will be put up to guide motorists, whom HDB advised to drive carefully and to follow the information signs displayed.
Estimated to be completed by March 2026, the overhead bridge will provide residents living nearby with a sheltered connection to West Coast Park and a bus stop along the highway. It will also have accessibility features like ramps and lifts.
During the road closures, motorists are advised to use West Coast Link and West Coast Road as an alternative route to the closed segment of the highway.
