SINGAPORE – A passenger’s rechargeable power bank overheated on board a Scoot flight from Hong Kong to Singapore on Nov 22.

The budget carrier said on Nov 23, in response to The Straits Times’ queries, that the incident occurred on board flight TR939.

According to tracking website FlightRadar24, the plane departed Hong Kong at 5.48pm.

“Our cabin crew responded to the incident promptly, and no injuries were reported,” Scoot said.

Airport emergency services were on standby upon the plane’s arrival in Singapore, it added.

“All passengers and crew disembarked normally after the aircraft landed uneventfully in Singapore at 9.06pm on Nov 22,” Scoot said.

“Scoot sincerely apologises for the disruption and inconvenience caused. The safety of our customers and crew remains our top priority.”

ST has contacted Scoot for more details.
