Straits Times artists Miel, 53, and Lee Chee Chew, 51, signed copies of their new creations - notebooks featuring their illustrations - for fans at Times bookstore at Waterway Point shopping mall in Punggol Central yesterday.
Mr Lee, who has published three compilations of his popular Chew on it! comic strips, said: "Unlike my comic books, this notebook allows readers to pen their punchlines in empty speech bubbles to create their own cartoons. I'd like to call this the 'old-school interactive book'." Miel, whose notebook is titled Meow, said he was inspired by his two cats and the art is all new: "They were done from scratch, like a cat would." The notebooks cost $13.91 each and are available at leading bookstores.
