SINGAPORE – The authorities are considering building a massive underground cavern facility in Gali Batu, near Mandai and close to a disused granite quarry, to store construction material and free up land above ground for other uses.
JTC Corporation is engaging consultancy services for a “high-level, conceptual study” to assess the feasibility of using underground caverns in Gali Batu to store aggregate – a coarse raw material made up of sand and stone, among other things, that is used in construction processes such as making cement.
