SINGAPORE – Flash floods may occur in Queen Street on Oct 7.

In a post on social media platform X at 6.06am, national water agency PUB advised the public to avoid Queen Street, from Bencoolen Link to Rochor Road, for the next hour amid heavy rain in the area.

The agency earlier warned of heavy rain in the southern, eastern and central areas of Singapore from 6.10am to 7.30am.

At 6.36am, PUB posted an update to say that the heavy rain had eased.

On Oct 1, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said thundery showers are expected across Singapore on several mornings and afternoons in the first half of the month.

Sumatra squalls may bring widespread thundery showers and gusty winds on one or two mornings, it added.

Daily maximum temperatures will likely range between 32 deg C and 34 deg C on most days, MSS said, with the temperature on a few days coming in at a little over 34 deg C.
