Some 6,000 low-income families with school-going children received help for the upcoming school year at the Chinese Development Assistance Council's annual "Ready for School" event yesterday at Nanyang Junior College. Acting Minister for Education (Schools) Ng Chee Meng helped to distribute packs containing vouchers for school supplies, groceries and transport. Festivities at the event included a mass workout. The project, which is in its 12th year, is supported by volunteers and community partners.
