SINGAPORE - Throwing firefighters into water at important junctures of their training is a tradition that has been passed down over the decades in the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
From fish ponds to pump wells, the tradition stems from a belief that firefighters should be comfortable with water, which is what they always have to handle in their work.
