Minister-in-charge of the public service Chan Chun Sing yesterday urged public servants to improve the way they work by building up four new skill sets.
First, digital skills - increasingly needed in a digital age.
Second, design thinking, meaning to look at a product or programme from the experience of end users.
Third, systems thinking - to tackle problems of growing complexity.
And finally, the ability to collaborate across society, as the public service does not have all the answers.
Mr Chan was speaking at the Public Sector Transformation Awards ceremony, where officers were commended for service delivery, innovation and best practices.
