SINGAPORE - Waterway Primary School will usher in the Year of the Dog with a music video of its teachers and pupils singing and dancing to a Chinese New Year song with radio deejays.
The video collage, which is being produced by the teachers, will be played during the school's Chinese New Year Eve celebration on Feb 15.
The song in the video - I Wang U - was released by Singapore Press Holdings' Chinese radio station UFM100.3. It first hit the airwaves in early January, and a music video featuring the station's deejays was posted on its social media platforms.
The video has so far garnered more than 230,000 views on Facebook and more than 39,000 views on YouTube. It is also played on outdoor screens, cable TV and in theatres.
On Wednesday (Jan 31), more than 650 pupils and teachers - who had practised for two weeks - sang and danced to the song during assembly as part of the filming.
Five DJs from UFM100.3 were also at the school to make a cameo appearance in the video. All 10 of the station's DJs will be there on Thursday for the filming.
I Wang U was composed by singer-songwriter William Tan Jianhong, while its lyrics were written by UFM100.3 DJ Tianpei.
The music video is available on www.facebook.com/UFM1003
