Prawn, vegetable prices down for Chinese New Year
But expect to pay at least 20% more for popular festive fish due to high demand

Shelling out extra for prawns has become an unwelcome Chinese New Year norm but this year is proving to be an exception, with prices down about 20 per cent thanks to good catches from Indonesia.
Mid-sized prawns were going for $10 to $16 a kilogram at Chong Pang market yesterday, well under the $40 a kilogram they have hit in past festive seasons.
