SINGAPORE – Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will make an introductory visit to Cambodia on July 2, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said on July 1.
PM Wong, who is also Finance Minister, is going to Phnom Penh at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Manet, who will host an official lunch in his honour.
PM Wong will participate in a welcome ceremony at the Peace Palace. He will also have a royal audience with King Norodom Sihamoni, call on Senate President Hun Sen, and meet Mr Hun Manet.
The two countries commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 2025.
In 2024, Singapore was Cambodia’s third-largest foreign investor
Singapore’s investments in Cambodia range from real estate and energy, to agribusiness and finance. The two countries are also deepening cooperation in areas like the green and digital economies.
PM Wong will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the PMO.
During PM Wong’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong will be acting prime minister.
