SINGAPORE – A police officer was taken to hospital on July 8 after the police motorcycle he was riding skidded on the PIE.

Police said they were alerted to the accident, which occurred on the expressway towards Changi, at around 7.50pm.

The injured officer, 25, was conscious and taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force said.

Police investigations are ongoing.

A swarm of paramedics appear to be responding to the accident.

At around 8.35pm that evening, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a post on X that traffic had built up from Kim Keat Link to Lorong 1 Toa Payoh due to the accident.

It advised motorists to avoid lanes one, two and three.

The congestion persisted at least until around 11pm, according to LTA’s posts.
