Food delivery riders volunteered their services in the spirit of Ramadan, putting packets of the famous Masjid Khalid briyani into thermal bags before delivering them to elderly and needy residents in Woodlands last night. Since 2016, Woodlands grassroots leaders have organised this yearly "Briyani Bonding", which was initiated by grassroots adviser and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Home Affairs Amrin Amin. This year, Mr Amrin, grassroots leaders and volunteers from temples, churches and mosques have been distributing the briyani every Monday since May 21. The last delivery will be next Monday, before Hari Raya Puasa next Friday. In all, about 6,000 residents will get to savour the famed briyani.
