Little things can cause big problems. And midges and mosquitoes were the focus at one point of yesterday's sitting, with MPs calling for the Government to step up action against these flying insects.

The outbreak of midges, for one, has caused nuisance to residents living near Pandan Reservoir, invading homes and getting into food, among other disamenities, said Ms Foo Mee Har (West Coast GRC). The insects do not bite or spread diseases.
