SINGAPORE - When my son was in Primary 6 three years ago, his form teacher, Mr D, met the class parents for a chat session.

I had expected a pep talk about gearing our children up for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). Instead, Mr D reminded us not to overload our children with tuition and stressed that repeated practices are of little help if he or she is already familiar with the topic.
