SINGAPORE - When Tasneem Abdul Majeed was taking her O-level examinations, she was so nervous she threw up before each paper and did not manage to complete a single one.

She had started experiencing insomnia, loss of focus and exhaustion earlier in the year, but pressed on as she wanted to make it to a junior college (JC).
