Singapore Children’s Book Festival
Introduce local literature to your kids by taking them to the inaugural Singapore Children’s Book Festival on June 22 and 23 at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Nafa) Campus 2.
There will be storytelling by local writers, after which teachers from the Nafa School of Young Talents will conduct arts workshops inspired by the books. Each class costs $20 a child.
The line-up includes a comic drawing class following author Daryl Kho’s sharing of his book Mist-Bound: How To Glue Back Grandpa; and a physical theatre lesson based on Evelyn Sue Wong’s Just A Little Mynah.
Your children can also learn to create a “noodle dish” using modelling clay after Low Lai Chow reads her story Catch Mee If You Can.
The festival is co-organised by the Singapore Book Publishers Association and Nafa.
Meanwhile, authors, illustrators and industry experts will be speaking on wide-ranging topics regarding children’s literature.
Festival tickets, which offer access to all panel talks for the day, are priced at $20 an adult. There are also two-day passes at $30.

For instance, catch Lotso bear from animated movie Toy Story 3 (2010) at Plaza Singapura; and Sulley from Monsters, Inc (2001) and Monsters University (2013) at Westgate.
Take pictures with the Pixar-themed displays and stand to win a $50 e-shopping voucher when you post them on your Instagram account.
