Ride and Ralk for Rainbows
Form a family team to cycle 20km or 60km and raise funds for non-profit Club Rainbow (Singapore). Or choose to run and walk 10km.
Its annual Ride and Ralk for Rainbows event, which started in 2012, is back with a virtual edition.
You and your kids can complete the challenge any time, anywhere at your own pace, over up to 10 sessions. Just use a GPS-enabled tracking application to track the date, time and distance covered.
As you do so, rally your extended family and friends to pledge a donation to support your effort and, more importantly, the beneficiaries of Club Rainbow.
In 2022, it helped 1,234 children and youth with chronic and potentially life-threatening illnesses.
Many of them, referred to the charity by their doctors, require frequent hospital visits and long-term medication.
Club Rainbow aims to raise $500,000 from its event. Registration is free and open till Aug 31.
It also welcomes direct donations. Find out more at www.rideforrainbows.org

If your kids love to sing, act, dance or play a musical instrument, encourage them to audition for ChildAid.
The annual charity show’s 20th edition will be held at Esplanade Theatre on Nov 29 and 30.
Organised by The Straits Times and The Business Times, the event raises money for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund and The Business Times Budding Artists Fund.
The pocket money fund provides allowances to children from low-income families to help them through school, while the artists fund helps to sponsor arts training for talented youth from less privileged households.
Since 2005, ChildAid has raised more than $30 million, and 2023’s edition received donations of over $2 million.
Wearing costumes inspired by the 1930s, the cast belted out a medley of songs in four languages at the ChildAid 2023 show.

Children and teens aged six to 19 can record a video of themselves performing, upload it to YouTube and go to str.sg/ca24entry to submit their application by July 14, 7pm. They should also include a short explanation of why they would like to take part in ChildAid 2024.
Those shortlisted will be invited for the audition, conducted in person between July 19 and 23. Selected performers will attend a three-day workshop in September, and combined rehearsals will begin on Oct 28.
