PlayStation 5’s Astro Bot
Look out for the launch of Astro Bot on Sept 6. The single-player video game is PlayStation 5’s first child-friendly title developed in-house since 2021’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Unlike many of its video games which are geared towards the youth and adults, Astro Bot is a space adventure suitable even for pre-schoolers. It is the first full-scale game developed around PlayStation’s mascot Astro by its Tokyo-based studio Team Asobi.
Role-play as Astro and go on a mission to rescue lost crew members on more than 50 planets, each offering a new game with three difficulty levels: easy, normal and hard.
Punch, spin-attack and air-dash through enemies and collect treasures along the way. The wireless game controller’s vibration motor adds a tactile experience so kids feel immersed in the virtual world.
The launch also commemorates PlayStation’s 30th anniversary and long-time fans can spot some 150 iconic PlayStation-inspired cameos. Pre-order the title for $79.90 at str.sg/MDZB
Experience Astro Bot in a preview on Aug 30 and 31, and Sept 6 and 7 at the Singapore Night Festival. This will be at Peranakan Museum’s Ixora Room from 7 to 11pm. Stand a chance to win a PlayStation 5 console too.

If the names Isabelle, Tom Nook and Rosie excite your kids, you know they are true fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The Nintendo Switch video game was a runaway hit when it was launched in 2020 and ranks as its second best-selling title today.
It allows players to design islands and build homes for animal villagers, such as Rosie the cat.
Drawing inspiration from the video game’s iconic locations and popular characters, Lego launched an Animal Crossing collection in March.
The series has recently added two new toy brick sets, featuring more fan-favourite settings.
Your kids will be thrilled to build the K.K.’s Concert At The Plaza set ($129.90), which comes with the famous Town Hall and K.K. Slider, Isabelle and Audie mini-figures.
The Fly With Dodo Airlines set ($64.90) has a seaplane, jetty and beach like in the video game, so your kids can role-play their own stories with Wilbur and Tangy.
