SINGAPORE – Primary 1, Kindergarten 1 and secondary school students in Ministry of Education (MOE) schools will kick off the new school year on Jan 2, 2025.

In a statement on Aug 12 detailing the school terms and holidays for 2025, the ministry said that Kindergarten 2 and Primary 2 to 6 pupils will report to schools on Jan 3.

School will start on Feb 5 for junior college and Millennia Institute (MI) students in their first year. JC2 and MI students in their second or third year will begin their school year on Jan 13.

The last day of school for MOE kindergartens, primary and secondary school students will be Nov 21. But schools that will be used as venues for O-level written examinations will end earlier, on Oct 24.

School for those in JC1 and MI students in their first or second year will end on Nov 28.

School holidays include Youth Day on July 7 and Teachers’ Day on Sept 5. MOE kindergartens and primary school pupils will celebrate Children’s Day on Oct 3.

The public holidays for Hari Raya Haji and National Day fall on a Saturday – June 7 and Aug 9 respectively. Schools will be closed on June 9 – though this is subject to further confirmation – and Aug 11 as both days have been designated as off in lieu.
