SINGAPORE – More than 30 bus services plying routes that pass through the city will be affected by road closures on Aug 9 for the National Day Parade.
Multiple SBS Transit buses will be diverted in phases to alternative routes, the transport operator said on Aug 6.
The affected services are 10, 14, 16, 32, 51, 56, 57, 63, 70M, 80, 100, 107M, 111, 124, 130, 131, 133, 145, 166, 174, 195, 196, 197, 400, 502, 851 and 851e.
From 11.59pm on Aug 8 to 7am on Aug 10, about 40 bus stops along Nicoll Highway, in the Marina Bay area and in the vicinity of the Civic District will be skipped.
Bus stops around Bayfront MRT station, Raffles Hotel and the Esplanade are among those affected.
“Commuters are advised to plan their journeys and take the MRT if they need to get to the affected areas,” SBS Transit said.
Transport operator SMRT said that its service 961 would skip two stops – after Raffles Hotel and at the Supreme Court – on Aug 8 due to the road closure in Parliament Place for the parade.
From 8am to 11.59pm on Aug 9, SMRT services 961, 960, 960e and 61 will be skipping several bus stops in the city area, as will 961M, which runs only on Sundays and public holidays, SMRT said.
Bus services will skip these stops: Esplanade station Exit F, Shaw Towers, after Singapore Flyer, the Esplanade, The Float @ Marina Bay, Promenade station/Pan Pacific, Supreme Court, Raffles Hotel and after Raffles Hotel.
Some stops will be skipped for only a few hours. The ones near City Hall MRT station Exit B will be closed from 1pm to 8pm, while the bus stop opposite The Treasury will be closed from 1pm to 3pm and 6.30pm to 8pm.
Go-Ahead Singapore services 36 and 518 will skip some stops along Bayfront Avenue, Raffles Avenue, Temasek Avenue and Temasek Boulevard from 8am to 11.59pm on Aug 9.
On Aug 10, service 50 will skip the bus stop along Punggol Place, which is opposite Punggol View Primary School, due to road closures for the National Day heartland celebrations. This bus stop will be closed from the start to end of bus operations that day, SBS Transit said.
