SINGAPORE - A food kiosk on the first floor of Jurong Point Shopping Centre has been suspended for two weeks, starting Wednesday (April 5), for failing to keep its premises free of rats and cockroaches.

Take 5!, a subsidiary of curry puff specialists Old Chang Kee, has accumulated 12 demerit points over the past year (six each for rodent and cockroach infestations), said the National Environment Agency in a suspension notice on its website on Tuesday.

It was also fined $800 for the offences.

This is the third case of cockroach infestation at the mall since early March.

On March 2, a food stall in the Kopitiam food court on the third floor was suspended for two weeks for cockroach infestation and for using dirty crockery.

Six days later, another food stall in the food court was hit with a similar suspension for cockroach infestation and for failing to register an assistant.
