Two groups of students from Nanyang Technological University's (NTU) Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information are hoping to do their part in the fight against fake news by equipping others with the ability to identify such misinformation.
One group has started Sure Anot, an awareness campaign aimed at getting those aged 50 to 64 to stop, question and check the authenticity of forwarded news items on popular messaging platform WhatsApp.
