SINGAPORE - Singaporeans can now apply for SkillsFuture study awards for the intellectual property (IP) sector, the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (Ipos) announced on Wednesday (Jan 31).
Ipos said that up to 60 SkillsFuture Study Awards will be available, and that they are targeted at professionals seeking to update or acquire IP skills.
The bond-free awards - which are worth $5,000 each and administered by Ipos - aim to help workers to contribute to an innovation-driven economy.
Chief executive of Ipos, Mr Daren Tang, said: "Ipos will help to build a community of experts who are not only technically strong in IP knowledge, but also skilled in using it to help companies drive business growth."
The training arm of Ipos, IP Academy, will also introduce courses for the study awards to train more IP experts.
Only Singaporeans with at least two years of full-time work experience, and who have not previously received any SkillsFuture study award, are eligible.
