A new science and technology agency will be formed under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as part of efforts to build up national security capabilities, The Straits Times has learnt.

The agency, planned to be set up this year, will be responsible for research and procurement in areas such as border security and protection of critical infrastructure.
