The Traffic Police are deploying portable speed laser cameras at 44 hot spots for speeding, a move to encourage motorists to slow down at accident- prone areas.
The new cameras boast better features than older ones and can take sharper images of speeding vehicles even when it is dark.
They will replace the old cameras at the speeding hot spots. This comes even as the number of fatal speeding accidents hit 48 last year, up from 43 in 2014.
