SINGAPORE - Companies can now take stock of their employees’ skills and assess gaps using new online resources that can chart career pathways to help in staff development.

These online tools, TalentTrack and TalentTrack+, were launched by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) on Aug 18.

More than 7,500 employers accessed the beta version of TalentTrack in May and June 2025 to gain skills and training insights for their workforces.

Addressing about 800 attendees from various enterprises at an Aug 18 event, Senior Minister of State for Education Janil Puthucheary said: “Step forward and take advantage of the training tools and enhanced support from the Government. Get involved in the benefits that being part of our tripartite arrangements and partnerships will bring to you and your businesses.”

He was speaking at the SkillsFuture Human Capital Conference held at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

TalentTrack, a free tool developed by SSG, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Government Technology Agency, helps employers identify in-demand skills and training courses curated to their industries.

It also lets firms track their use of SSG training grants and benchmark against sector averages. Accessible via the GoBusiness Dashboard with a Singpass login as a business user, the tool draws on SSG’s job and course data insights.

SSG said it will continue to enhance the TalentTrack dashboard to offer more customised insights to support employers in their workforce development.

For more advanced profiling, TalentTrack+ is tying up with commercial partners to offer human resources technology (HRTech) tools that assess each employee’s skills, highlight gaps and recommend personalised training. The fees for using this service are set by the partner firms.

The HRTech tools under TalentTrack+ are integrated with the Career and Skills Passport, an online career and skills repository by SSG, where employees can choose to share their own government-verified skills data with their employers. Companies can then benchmark employees’ skills against job requirements and chart clear career progression pathways for them.

SSG has appointed local talent development company JobTech as the first partner under TalentTrack+, and will bring more partners on board.

As part of this partnership, employers can sign up with JobTech’s platform to access complimentary basic workforce skills profiling features. Employers who want the full suite of features can get it at a rate of $115 per employee per year.

One of the 7,500 employers that used the TalentTrack tool was E-Bridge Pre-School. HR director Vivian Lee said the platform helped the pre-school find the right training courses for its staff, which had been a challenge.

“So now, in one platform, we have all the relevant training courses offered by the training providers. From there, we will select the most suitable one to enrol the staff in.”

The platform has helped E-Bridge Pre-School to find early childhood leadership programmes for teachers, and interview skills training for its HR staff who recruit employees.

Ms Gina Toh, chief executive of ISS Facility Services, Singapore, said the TalentTrack platform has helped the firm find Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) sustainability courses. The firm, which provides cleaning, maintenance, food services and facility management, has sent 15 key account managers to take these courses.

ISS Singapore was among nine companies awarded the National Workplace Learning Certification at the event, attaining the platinum certification. This certification recognises companies for their efforts to encourage continual learning at the workplace.

Speaking to attendees from various enterprises at the conference,Senior Minister of State for Education Janil Puthucheary urged them to “take advantage of the training tools and enhanced support from the Government”.

Ms Toh said ISS Singapore will look at using the TalentTrack portal to upskill employees to use various technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Copilot, an AI-powered assistant designed to enhance productivity and streamline workflows.

“When there wasn’t such a platform, our learning and development team needed to look at multiple sources of available courses through different higher learning institutions or private institutions. That was quite time-consuming.

“With this (platform), it is already pre-planned and narrowed down, and we can select from there. I think it really does speed up efficiency and help companies make faster decisions.”
