SINGAPORE - A new dialysis centre in Yishun, the first one to double as an education and outreach centre to raise awareness about kidney disease and healthy living, is scheduled to open on July 31.
The Singapore Contractors Association (Scal) - National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Dialysis Centre at Yishun Street 81 will have 14 dialysis stations, to provide treatment for up to 84 patients each week, Scal said on Thursday (June 23).
The centre will also collaborate with grassroots organisations to run various health awareness programmes in the community.
Scal raised $964,500 to fund the centre through member donations and a donation from the association, as well as through charity golf tournaments held on Friday (June 24) and in 2015. The sum was matched equally by the Government.
Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say was the guest of honour at Friday's tournament, and teed off with 132 golfers at Seletar Country Club.
