SINGAPORE - Bright red or lush green?

The new colour of public buses here will be unveiled in March at the Land Transport Authority (LTA)'s first Bus Carnival, after an public poll to choose between the two colours.

Besides the announcement on the colour for buses under the new government contracting model, there will also be an exhibition on the history of the bus industry in Singapore at the carnival.

The public will have the chance to view a vintage bus from the 1960s as well as other bus memorabilia such as old bus tickets and bus guides.

A bus simulator will also be on hand, giving members of the public a chance to experience how a bus captain manoeuvres a bus through traffic.

LTA will also give the public a look at new initiatives to be introduced, such as e-paper displays for bus arrival information and new apps for commuters.

There will also be other games and family activities at the carnival.

The Bus Carnival will be held over three weekends at three different locations.

It will be held at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza between March 11 and 13, the outdoor plaza at VivoCity between March 25 and 27 and at the HDB Hub at Toa Payoh between April 1 and 3.

The carnival will be held between 11am and 8pm, except on March 11 when it will be opened from noon to 8pm.

Visitors can look out for updates on activities and performances on the LTA's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/WeKeepYourWorldMoving.
