The move by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) to lower its training tempo across all services for the first time after five fatal incidents in 16 months is a good initial response, said defence observers.
They were reacting to the announcement by Chief of Defence Force Melvyn Ong at a media briefing on Thursday that he had asked all services to review their training tempo and to focus on the safety of all personnel.
