SINGAPORE - A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after an accident with a private bus on the AYE.

The accident took place on the evening of Aug 28, along the AYE towards Tuas, near the Penjuru Road exit.

The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were alerted to the accident at 6.40pm that evening, and the 28-year-old man was taken conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

In a video posted on SG Road Vigilante’s Facebook page, the motorcyclist is seen changing lanes when his vehicle appears to collide with the rear of a bus travelling on the rightmost lane.

The video then shows the motorcyclist being flung off his bike and landing at the edge of the rightmost lane, while the bus drives on ahead.

Efforts to trace the bus driver are under way, the police said. Police investigations are ongoing.

The Straits Times has reached out to the company of the bus involved in the accident for comment.
