SINGAPORE - A 28-year-old motorcyclist was injured after being hit by a car in a hit-and-run accident along Mountbatten Road on Wednesday night (June 27).

The police said that they were informed of the accident at 9.25pm, and that it took place in the direction of Nicoll Highway.

Food delivery rider Muhammad Alnur, a father of three, was conscious when conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital by ambulance, and given medical leave until July 4.

On Thursday (June 28) morning, a Facebook user Puteri Nur Aishah identified herself as the sibling of Mr Alnur, and appealed for witnesses to the accident.

She claimed that the car that hit her brother had been driving against the flow of traffic, and that it drove off immediately after the accident.

In a car dashcam video that she uploaded, a dark coloured hatchback car is seen driving against the flow of traffic outside One Amber condominium in the rightmost lane, before the junction of Mountbatten Road and Tanjong Katong Road.

Further down the road, a passer-by and a taxi driver are also seen walking towards a section of the road, where the injured motorcyclist is believed to have been knocked over.

Investigations are ongoing, said the police.
