SINGAPORE – A 38-year-old man died after being involved in an accident along the AYE towards Tuas on the evening of Oct 3.

The police said they were alerted to the accident involving a motorcycle and a trailer truck at about 6.15pm, with the motorcyclist unconscious when he was taken to hospital.

He was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force, where he subsequently died, and the police are investigating.

In social media posts put up on various Facebook groups, a motorcycle can be seen lodged in the back of a red trailer truck, with a large splatter of blood on the road, as motorcyclists look on.

One of the videos posted on the Singapore roads accident.com Facebook page shows the motorcyclist on the ground, although it is unclear if he is pinned under the trailer truck.

Some social media posts identified him as a Malaysian national working in Singapore.

According to the

latest figures from the

Traffic Police

’s mid-year report, the number of accidents involving motorcyclists increased by 9.5 per cent from 1,907 in the first half of 2024 to 2,088 in the first half of 2025.

Motorcyclists and pillion riders – 43 – accounted for slightly over half of the 79 road deaths in the first half of the year, and they were involved in 54.7 per cent of all traffic accidents in the same period.
