SINGAPORE – A 36-year-old man died following an accident involving two motorcycles along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on the morning of Sept 9.

The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the accident at about 6.30am, which took place on the slip road to the Bukit Timah Expressway, towards Seletar Expressway.

The 36-year-old man, one of the motorcyclists, was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic. The other biker, a 32-year-old man, was taken conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, said the SCDF.

He is assisting with investigations.

The aftermath of the accident can be seen in a video posted on Singapore Roads Accident.com’s Facebook page.

A motorcycle, a tow truck and at least three police vehicles can be seen on the right-most lane of the expressway, along with traffic police personnel.

A damaged motorcycle can be seen on the ground with debris strewn around it.

Traffic cones can be seen placed around the site of the accident, along with a blue tent which is used to cover the dead man’s body.

There were 78 fatal road accidents from January to June, up from 70 in the first half of 2024, with the number of deaths rising from 72 to 79, said the Traffic Police in their

mid-year report in August
