Motorcyclist, 64, dies after accident on CTE; man arrested for careless driving

SINGAPORE – A 64-year-old motorcyclist died after an accident on the CTE on April 1.
The 68-year-old male driver of a car involved in the accident has been arrested for careless driving causing death.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force and police were alerted at 2.15pm on April 1 to the accident, which involved a car and a motorcycle on the CTE towards AYE near the Orchard Road exit.
The motorcyclist and a female pillion rider, 41, were taken to Singapore General Hospital, where the motorcyclist died.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Video footage of the aftermath of the accident circulating online shows what appears to be the motorcyclist and the pillion rider lying on the expressway near the Orchard Road exit.
Some motorists near the site of the accident can be seen approaching the pair to offer help.
