Ms Wendy Seet, 64, remembers a time when society and employers in Singapore were not as accepting of people with disabilities as they are now, even though she believes more can be done on this front.

"It was difficult to find a job, I faced numerous rejections," said Ms Seet, who has polio and had tried many times to find a job in the 1980s.
