SINGAPORE – A man who fled after his car collided with four other vehicles in Telok Blangah has been arrested.

Police said on Nov 6 that the 34-year-old man was arrested the day before.

He was arrested at an industrial building in Kaki Bukit, Shin Min Daily News reported on Nov 6.

The Chinese-language daily said that there were a number of police vehicles seen at the building, Premier @ Kaki Bukit, on the night of Nov 5.

At about 10pm, officers were seen entering the building with police dogs to conduct a search, it added.

The man was believed to have been hiding in a unit on the sixth floor.

At about 11.15pm, the man was escorted out of the building.

The police on Nov 4 said their officers had been patrolling in Telok Blangah Drive at about 8.30am when they spotted a car that had mounted a kerb.

The driver

drove off suddenly

as the police officers were checking on him.

A police pursuit ensued, during which the car collided with two other cars, a van and a bus.

The driver then fled on foot along Telok Blangah Hill.

An e-vaporiser was found in the car, and the related offence will be referred to the Health Sciences Authority, the police said then, while adding that investigations are ongoing.
