SINGAPORE - A 28-year-old man was rescued from a swimming pool on May 27 after he almost drowned at Bishan Swimming Complex.

The police said they received a call for assistance at about 9.15am.

The man was conscious when taken to the hospital, they added.

He was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

The police are investigating the incident

Responding to queries from The Straits Times, a Sport Singapore spokesperson said the statutory board’s staff had witnessed the incident and immediately rendered help.

“As the matter is currently under investigation, Sport Singapore is unable to provide further details at this time,” the spokesperson said.

“We will work closely with the relevant authorities on this.”
