SINGAPORE – A man was taken to hospital after a road accident between two cars near the Golden Landmark Shopping Complex near Bugis on the night of Sept 17.
When contacted, the police said they were alerted to the accident at the junction of Arab Street and Victoria Street at about 9.50pm.
A 55-year-old male driver was taken conscious to hospital, while a 34-year-old male driver is assisting with investigations, the police said.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it took a person to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, while another person was assessed for minor injuries but did not want to be taken to hospital.
In dashcam footage sent to Stomp, a vehicle is seen approaching a traffic junction, with the traffic light having just turned red. A red car is then seen passing the vehicle on the right, cutting into the path of the vehicle and then beating the red light.
There are about eight seconds between the traffic light turning red and the red car crossing the junction.
The red car is then apparently hit on its left side by a white car, with other vehicles also moving off from the same direction. The red car is seen mounting the centre divider before it spins around.
A video uploaded to the Singapore roads accident.com Facebook page shows a red two-door sports car that appears to have mounted the kerb in Victoria Street, in front of the shopping complex. The car has a dented passenger door and is facing ongoing traffic.
A short distance away, a white sedan is seen in the footage with a damaged front bumper at the junction of Victoria Street and Arab Street. Police officers and an ambulance are also at the scene.
Police investigations are ongoing.
