SINGAPORE - A Singaporean man was fined $700 after he was caught smuggling e-vaporisers concealed in a baby stroller in the boot of his car at Woodlands Checkpoint on Sept 9.
In a Facebook post on Sept 12, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority said that its officers had flagged the Singapore-registered vehicle for further checks at the checkpoint.
When questioned, the man claimed he had nothing to declare.
However, officers found two e-vaporisers concealed in the pocket compartment of a baby stroller in the boot of the car during their checks.
A third e-vaporiser was found in the man’s bag.
Vape users under 18 face a fine of $500 while adults can be fined $700.
Second-time offenders have to attend a rehabilitation programme for three months.
