Man arrested for drink driving after Jalan Sultan accident

SINGAPORE - A 43-year-old man was arrested for drink driving following an accident in Jalan Sultan on the night of Dec 30.
When contacted, the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to an accident that occurred at the junction of Jalan Sultan and Rochor Canal Road at 11.50pm.
The car is believed to have skidded along Jalan Sultan towards Syed Alwi Road, and the driver was arrested for drink driving, added the police.
One person, who was assessed for minor injuries, declined to be taken to hospital, said SCDF.
In a video of the aftermath of the accident, a car is seen on the grass verge at a junction.
The car is tilted at an angle, with a damaged traffic light pole lodged between the front of the car and one of its front wheels. Debris can be seen on the road a few metres away from the car.
Police investigations are ongoing.
