SINGAPORE - A 55-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly smashed a glass panel at a Family Service Centre and assaulted a man in River Valley on Sunday (June 3).
Police were alerted to the case at about 10am on Sunday, at a Family Service Centre in Delta Avenue.
Family Service Centres are under the purview of the Ministry of Social and Family Development. They are set up to provide help and support to those in need, and are staffed by social service professionals, according to the MSF's website.
The police said in statement on Tuesday that they established the identity of the man after ground enquiries and the aid of police cameras.
He was arrested for suspected vandalism on Monday in Hoy Fatt Road, the statement added.
If convicted of vandalism, he could be jailed for up to three years or fined up to $2,000, and receive three to eight strokes of the cane.
